Phew! Edgar Modern have just returned from this year’s Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park, London. While there we debuted two exciting new solo exhibitions from David Harkins and Heath Hearn, soon to open in our Bath gallery, as well as showcasing new works by Carl Melegari, Jessica Cooper RWA, Becky Buchanan, John Harland, Ronald Smith, Rachael Read (Rain), and Janis Ridley.
Thousands of visitors descended on the fair over the four days and our stand (just opposite the fantastic Sipsmith Artisanal Gin & Tonic Bar!) was excitedly buzzing with both established EM clients and new buyers. Many of our works found enthusiastic new owners and it was such a thrill for us to watch people light up as they found works of art that made them fall in love.
As the fair’s founder Will Ramsay says: “To make art accessible and affordable to everyone, the Affordable Art Fair provides a relaxed, unstuffy environment so people feel confident to explore.” This year’s addition was another vibrant explosion of colour and life, with a hugely diverse range of art on display – all priced between £100-£5,000. The welcoming atmosphere and accessible space provided visitors with the perfect environment to discover new artists and artworks or to pick out the perfect piece for that empty wall in their home.
A big thank you to the Affordable Art Fair for having us again this year, see you in the Spring!
Some happy clients with their new pieces.
